Spear Phishing Starts with a Google Search
Spear phishing is a targeted form of phishing where an attacker researches a specific individual before crafting an attack. They pull names and titles from company websites, cross-reference LinkedIn profiles, identify reporting structures, and build convincing impersonations of colleagues, vendors, or clients. A company website with a full team roster, photos, and bios is essentially a gift to that process.
